Service Charge (UK)

This feature is currently available only for locations based in the UK.
In unTill Air, you can configure a service charge to be automatically added to bills in the POS. This is particularly useful for locations in the UK, where adding a service charge to a bill is a common practice.
You can configure a service charge for a specific space, allowing different service charge settings for different spaces within the same location. To do that, please follow these steps:
- Navigate to Back Office > Spaces.
- Click 'Add new space'.
- Enable the 'Service charge' checkbox and enter the percentage that should be automatically added to bills in the POS for this space.
- Click 'Continue' and complete the space setup.
Once a service charge has been enabled for a space, it will be automatically applied to all future orders created within that space and included in the bill.
If needed, POS users can be allowed to remove and re-add the service charge in the POS. To enable this, go to Back Office > POS Users > Permissions and grant the required permission for managing service charges.
Once the permission has been enabled, the POS user will be able to remove the automatically applied service charge from the order or payment screen if the customer refuses to pay it. The service charge can also be added again. The configured percentage cannot be changed in the POS.
