Why may I be charged 21% Dutch VAT on my subscription/fees if I'm based outside the Netherlands?

For business customers located outside the Netherlands (where unTill AIR B.V. is officially registered), whether VAT applies to your subscription or fees is determined by your VAT registration status.

When a valid VAT number is provided during the unTill Air onboarding, we apply the reverse charge mechanism. Under this arrangement, the invoice is issued without VAT, and you account for it through your local tax authorities.

When no valid VAT number is provided, the reverse charge mechanism cannot be applied. In such cases, we are required to charge our own country's VAT rate of 21% on the subscription/fees, as Dutch VAT is the only rate we are permitted to apply.

A VAT number can only be provided during the onboarding of a new unTill Air account. It cannot be modified or added to an existing account afterwards.
