Manage screen settings


Who can use this feature?

When creating a screen in unTill Air, only the most important settings are displayed. Digital bills are enabled by default as the primary way to provide bills to customers.

After a screen is created, you can modify its settings in the Back Office. To do this, double-click the screen line in the Equipment section. This will open the screen settings, where you can adjust specific options for that screen.

Here, you can modify bill settings, assign a cash drawer, printer, and payment terminals to this particular screen, and configure other screen-specific options.

The bill setting defines whether you work with digital bills or printed bills or combine both approaches.

  • By selecting the 'Digital bill' option, a pop-up with a QR code will appear after each POS transaction, allowing the customer to view the bill on their phone. Customers can also receive the bill by email by entering their email address in the provided field. With this option, you can still print the bill as long as at least one bill printer is configured at the location.
  • The 'Do not show QR Code' option disables the QR code pop-up after each POS transaction and also disables automatic bill printing. However, you can still print the bill manually if needed, as long as at least one bill printer is available at the location. To do so, use the 'Print previous bill' button in the POS. You can find it on the Home screen (Table plan) or on the Control screen (Direct sales).
  • By selecting 'Print to (printer's name)', all bills will be printed automatically on the selected printer after each POS transaction.

In these settings, you can also configure the cash drawer for this screen. In the Cash drawer printer field, select a printer to connect the cash drawer to. By choosing Use (printer name), the cash drawer will be linked to the selected printer for this specific screen.

Once a cash drawer printer is selected, the 'Auto open cash drawer on Cash payments' option becomes available. When enabled, the cash drawer will automatically open when a payment is completed in cash.

You can also enable 'Simple print mode', which uses a simplified printing interface. This results in a less detailed bill but may improve printing speed.

The 'Allow switch between modes' option lets users switch between Table plan and Direct sales modes directly while the application is running on the screen.

Payment terminals and tips settings

You can assign the relevant payment terminals to this screen if needed. In the 'terminals' field select the desired terminal for this screen.

In these settings, you can activate or deactivate the 'Tips on terminal' functionality for this screen. By default, when enabled, this functionality is applied to all screens. However, you can disable it for a specific screen in that screen’s settings. For more information on how to use Terminal tips in unTill Air, check the unTill Payments manual.

You can also enable Tap to Pay for a screen, allowing customers to make quick contactless payments using their devices. You can enable tips on a screen with 'Tap to Pay' by toggling the 'Tips on screen' option.
