Open cash drawer

Who can use this feature?

✅ POS Users

If the screen is configured to use the cash drawer function by selecting the corresponding checkbox, POS users can open the cash drawer by tapping the relevant button on the control screen.

Note: You can configure a cash drawer for a printer only when the screen is set to the 'Print to (printer's name)' option. Otherwise, the corresponding checkbox will not be available. This means that the cash drawer cannot be used when printing from a QR pop-up.

Once configured, the cash drawer will open automatically for all cash payments before bill printing starts, allowing the payment process to continue without interruption. If printing fails, the cash drawer will still open and the existing printer error flow will be shown.

If POS users need to open the cash drawer without making a payment, they can use the 'Open cash drawer' feature.

To use the 'Open cash drawer' feature, please follow these steps:

  1. Open the unTill Air app on your screen.
  2. Navigate to the control screen.

  1. Tap on the 'Open cash drawer' button.

Note: If the POS User has no permission to open the cash drawer set in the Back Office, this button will be disabled. For details on the POS User permissions, refer to this page.

Now, the cash drawer is opened.

If you reopened the order that was paid by cash, the cash drawer will not be opened automatically due to the circumstances when the opening is not needed. If needed, please do this manually and tap on the button 'Open cash drawer' on the control screen.

Location Owners can view reports on the cash drawer openings, including details of the device used, the POS User involved, and the date and time of the action.
